On June 12, 2025, the Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Council under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Azizjon Azimi held a virtual meeting with Dr. Rami Abi Akl, Head of Digital Affairs and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the French Republic. Representatives of the AI Council had also participated in the meeting with Dr. Abi Akl in Paris during the NVIDIA GTC global conference.
During the discussion, the Tajik side presented key focus areas of the country’s AI ecosystem on the framework of the National AI development Strategy until 2040. The conversation covered the ongoing pilot project of "Artificial Intelligence" as a school subject, the launch of the first AI technopark in the country - “Area AI”, cooperation with international companies, as well as plans to create a Regional AI Center in Dushanbe.
The two sides also explored opportunities for utilizing Tajikistan’s green hydropower for processing compute power in AI, as well as the country’s global initiative on AI self-regulation. The meeting concluded with discussions on the potential for establishing direct partnerships between Tajikistan’s AI ecosystem and leading French AI companies.
